Rosina Klettersteig (Silberkarklamm) — via ferrata in Ramsau am Dachstein

Dachstein · Ramsau am Dachstein, Steiermark

A near-vertical line above the Silberkarklamm gorge with no ledges or resting sections, so it is on your arms the whole way. Single moves are similar to the neighbouring Hias, but the whole route is far more serious: if Hias was a struggle, skip this one.

Season and hours

Free access, but only in season. Season: May – October.

The Silberkarklamm gorge is private and closes outside the season together with the via ferratas and the hut — per the regional portal from 12 October 2026 to mid-May 2027. High water and storms make the routes by the stream dangerous.

Gear and requirements

Harness, via ferrata lanyard with an energy absorber (EN 958) and a helmet. The route is unstaffed with no rental at the start — bring your own gear or hire it down in the valley.

Requirements: The regional brochure gives a minimum age of 14.

Tickets: A fee for maintaining the Silberkarklamm gorge (Klammerhaltungsgebühr) is charged on entry. We do not give the amount because the sources do not publish it.
