The oldest ferrata in Slovakia: the mountain rescue service built it in 2004 in an abandoned limestone quarry just above Tatranská Kotlina, on the side of the Belianske Tatras known for the Belianska Cave. Fifty metres of grade C climbing takes a quarter of an hour and the walk-in from the car park takes five minutes — the shortest way to a genuine Tatra ferrata that still fits into an afternoon. The route is one-way, uphill only; you come down along the quarry ridge or a forest path behind the wall. The same quarry holds over thirty climbing routes.

Free access, all year.
Free access, no staff, no season — the route is open all year. The limestone in the old quarry dries slowly after rain, and in winter the rungs can be iced up.
Your own harness, ferrata lanyard with absorber and helmet. The route runs on natural rock — the artificial aids amount to two handles and three rungs.
Tickets: Free entry. There is no rental on site — the nearest ferrata sets are in Tatranská Lomnica or Ždiar.
