Klettersteige am Sattelberg — via ferrata in Ramsau am Dachstein

Dachstein · Ramsau am Dachstein, Steiermark

Four short practice routes on the flank of the Sattelberg, built as a ground for children and teenagers — and the only place on this list where you can climb a route for a nine-year-old and a C/D route the same morning. Kali (B, 160 m) is the children's line, Kala (B/C, 300 m) the youth one, while Kalo (C/D, 270 m) and Heidi (C/D, 390 m) fill the gap between them and the hard via ferratas in the Silberkarklamm. Heidi opened in 2018 and finishes on a rope bridge that feeds into the middle section of the Kala. All of them start from the car park by the old mill in Ramsau-Rössing. The rock can be loose and the north face stays shaded and often damp — a helmet here is not a formality.
