Gelbe-Wand-Steig — via ferrata in Schwangau

The easiest of the Tegelberg ferratas: roughly 400 metres of cable on a line that threads the gully between the Torschrofen and the Gelbe Wand. It is normally the first leg of the full-day Tegelberg round.

Free access, but only in season. Season: June – October.

The route is unstaffed and free to enter — the months below are the guidebook season, not opening hours. In the Alps snow decides: high routes are often passable only from July. Check conditions with the cable car operator or the local tourist office.

Gear and requirements

Harness, via ferrata lanyard with an energy absorber (EN 958) and a helmet. The route is unstaffed with no rental at the start — bring your own gear or hire it down in the valley.

Tickets: Free to enter — the route has no ticket office and no staff.
