A gym inside the former power plant of the old City Hospital complex in St. Louis — a building with its smokestack still standing, which is the easiest way to find it. It has run since 2012 and is the flagship of the Climb So iLL network; a second location sits in St. Charles.
There is over 900 m² of climbing surface: top rope, lead and auto-belays. Bouldering is possible but only in two designated places — the Eye Wall and the basement training wall; the house rules prohibit it in the roped areas. That is an unusual arrangement worth knowing about beforehand if you are coming to climb without a rope.
